Fixing user account corruption?

Thread Starter
Hi. I've created 2 user accounts in Win 7, one for gaming, the other for some work. Today, I started to see some graphical glitches in some games in the account I use for gaming. Then, I went to another account, tried to play those games there and found out that those problems were not there, so I came back and tried the same in the Gaming user account, but those problems were still there. Has this got something to do with User account corruption? If so, is there any way to get it fixed without deleting the account? Thanks in advance..

P.S
The problem was, in Saints Row 2, Radar and HUD were blurry and in some sport game, there were weird glitchy spikes.

The only corruption I can think of right now is driver malfunction. Go to the "gaming account" and uninstall catalyst, restart, boot up in that account, reinstall latest catalyst. Also make sure that the administrative rights for this account are enabled, if you have made any changes to the account settings (like quota) remove them. disable uac.

Thanks, I'll try that. But if it has got something to do with the drivers, the same should happen in all the user accounts, shouldn't it?

Yeah, I've had problems before too. Though I've had more windows problems, either way I just create a new account and copy the files over. I think you can manually delete all the account stuff too, so you don't have to make a new one, but it's just as easy. Make new account, copy files, delete account, delete account directory (in users), be happy.

[edit] Double check save data, I'm always extra careful of save data. =)

I used the "Restore factory defaults" option in the Catalyst Control Center and it seems to have got corrected... Thanks to both of you for your replies

Ahh, I'm not sure if the nvidia drivers have that. =p I've never had a problem like that though, usually it's missing icons and such.
