First time overclocking?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

This is my first time ever overclocking anything and I'm not sure how to do it at all.

I want to overclock my CPU to maybe 4.2 or 4.6GHz (whichever is still stable without ruining the CPU) and my RAM to 2200MHz with slightly better timings. I guess I kind of know what I want.

I just have no idea how to do it, though I would like to do it in the BIOS. Could someone please help?

I suggest you ask a moderator to move this thread to Intel CPU section.

In the meantime, check this out. A lot of good info:

The titles are self-explanatory. Of particular interest to you are:
-Guide to overclocking the i7 920 to 4 Ghz
