Last Gen System Build

Hey Everyone,

I am piecing together a budget build, primarily to surf the net but with enough power to do it quickly and quietly. Questions, critiques, suggestions etc are most welcome.

Major parameters are:

- Money: Currently total cost is at $315.91
- Size: mATX
- Noise: Low as practically possible with the above constraints.

My concerns so far are the HSF and/or VGA might not fit into the mATX case or mobo.

Here is what I have so far...

Biostar Mobo w/ integrated graphics as recommended.

Just use the stock heatsink fan from your cpu, and buy a motherboard with built in graphics. You could cut down on the cost if you just bought something like a pentuim, since you're just surfing the web. You could even just look at buying a really cheap laptop.

It has to be a PC, I've been feeling the itch to build

Integrated graphics sounds interesting. I will check to see how the extra price of the mobo feature compares to the separate VGA unit.

The PC this is replacing has a pentium, I just want a little more horsepower. Also, not sure how hot the cpu will get with stock hsf.

Will be cheaper if you get the integrated overall and if your not overclocking or anything a decent branded budget board should be just fine, only draw back to me on integrated is it shares your system ram to work properly.

Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-305-_-Product

Also, it's looks like your case has a decent amount of air flow, so I would just use the stock heatsink.

See my sig? I can barely hear it when I sit next to it. And that is with it running full out folding on CPU and GPU. Its very quiet. I imagine something like my sig will be enough with a little room for you to do other stuff like light gaming if the itch so strikes you.

This rig is not for me, I'm gifting it to someone who could use a new computer and really only surfs the web. I figured it would be something nice to do with my tax returns.

The integrated graphics might be the way to go, I'm not too worried about it drawing the system RAM, that recommended mobo uses DDR3.

Edited the mobo for integrated graphics and eliminated the VGA.
Swapped out HSF. System seems completed and around only $300 total incl. tax and shipping, not bad imho.

edit
...thinking of eliminating the hsf in favor of stock, since OC'ing is not in this rig's future.
