Need help in my First AMD Phenom build machine

Thread Starter
I am shooting this configuration with intention to overclock. But I am pretty new to it and unfortunately none of my frends own AMD to comment. Can anyone check and make it better pls....

Configuration :

Phenom II X4 955 'BE
MSI 890FXA-GD65 (Is it really AM3+ board ?)
G-Skill 2x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz
1 TB Hitachi HDD
GPU - ATI 6850
Antec 650 Watts PSU
CM Storm Scout case - Thermaltake Armor+ with Liquid Cooling System

XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 (Choosing it as the cost is low at the moment)
I have few doubts like can I extend this water cooling kit with GPU stock ?
And what are all other stuffs I must take with this setup if I extend

Helpiee

bte sorry for my bad english

Looks, fine, but that mobo is AM3, not AM3+. I think those are 990. There is a thread talking about it though. link

Would get a better video card. A few more dollars with get you a 6850 or 460, both of which are much more powerful than the 5770.

The motherboard does have AM3+ written on it, but no one can be sure it will support AM3+ cpu's (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Get this RAM, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-430-_-Product

For GPU, the 5770 is a decent card for the price but I would go with a 6870 if you aren't on a tight budget. Later on, you could crossfire for better performance.

Anyways i don't bother much about AM3+ or not even.
I chosen it for its 8+2 Phase design and cost ..

Will it be good for overclocking ? Because i couldn't find any reviews about this mobo
