Does upgrade worth it?

Hi folks, I've been pondering about replacing my 2x2Gig of RAM with 2x4Gig on in my rig. I'm currently running a set of Mushkin Blackline 996601 (meant to be 1600Mhz 7-7-6-18-1T) at 1333Mhz 6-6-5-18-1T-23 1.95V with a 955 C2 on a GA-MA790FXT-UD5P.

Obviously there's no 8gig kit that will be able to match those speed (at a somewhat reasonable price). I've spotted the G.SKILL F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH, which retail around 100$ and at CL7 are nearing my previous timing.

But, does it really worth it? I've spent a LOT of time getting those timing stable and I'm not quite sure I'll see a difference while gaming.

Don't bother. 4 DIMMs on a C2 rev processor you're going to have an extremely hard time stabilizing. And mixing kits with completely different ICs and rated voltage I wouldn't even close to recommend.
Just realized you're replacing, not adding on. In gaming it wouldn't really be worth it. Your current RAM has D9 ICs and would be better than whatever new RAM you would get. Much better. You should be able to get to 1600Mhz 6-6-6 with either the same volts or around .05v more.

Yeah, I'm replacing as I'm refreshing my server hardware. I've never been able to get stable past the stock timing at 1600Mhz. I guess my C2 stepping is to blame. Thanks for the advices.

I'm not gaming that much in multiplayer, except some COD4 and I've bought BFBC2 during the christmas holidays but I have yet to play extensively. So I decided to keep the RAM. I think I'll try to push them a little further and by the same time overclock my 955 a bit.

It only worth it if you play multi games at the sametime.
