4gb DDR2 1066 enough?

Thread Starter
Will 4gb DDR2 1066 enough? You can see the rest of my system specs, and I am about to upgrade from the 9600gt to a 6850.
Will the DDR2 be my undoing??

Should I upgrade to 8gb? I only have two dims on my mobo

It'll be fine. Just get your Northbridge up to speed . You can go ahead and get another perfectly matching set if you'd like. Wouldn't hurt anything.

Enough for what?
4 GB is fine for general use.
If you're consistently >85% utilization, I'd consider throwing more in.

Nah, 4gigs is alot of memory. I've always thought 4gb+ is overkill for a machine used just for gaming.

Might hurt his mobo trying to fit 2 things of ram into nothing

I don't see more ram being justified though or new ones for that matter unless you got a new socket or something.

I only have 2 slots for ram in total, so will have to stick with my 4gb for now, finding a 8 gig dual channel kit for 1066-1200 is HARD!

It's part of overclocking . Go read some of the AMD overclocking threads to get an idea.

And I didn't realize you only had 2 slots. My bad. 4GB will be just fine. I could take 4GB out of my machine right now, and I'd never miss it.
