First up the inner heatshrink gets pushed right up to the metal pin

Then I heat up the part right next to the metal pin to make sure it doesn't move anywhere.

sany0183.jpg

sany0185e.jpg

Then repeat for the other end

sany0187.jpg

After getting that tubing in place I put one of the wires back into the plastic connectors. I then bent the wire a little and used my trusty Sharpie to mark where I want the black tubing to come to. Seems like I bought the hair dryer for nothing. My light works a lot faster and doesn't wake up the kids. Oh well it will serve a purpose when they get older.

Here is the 6-pin wires finished with the sleeving and heat shrink tubing.

sany0188.jpg

Now it's time to put them back into the connector.

sany0189j.jpg

to make my life easier and not have to worry about where the wires are going I connected those things to each other.

sany0191j.jpg

Then I started in the upper corner of one of them and inserted the wire. I gave it a little tug to make sure it wasn't going to slip out. Then I looped the cord around and plugged it into the other side to make a connection, I then disconnected the connectors and put the rest of the wires into it.... alternating white and blue....

sany0193.jpg

Now that is my 6-pin and 8-pin finished.

sany0194b.jpg

Tomorrow night I will work on the 24-pin....it's late and I am tired and I think I burnt my thumb a little. Oh well the price I must pay to have an awesome computer. So until then, mod it to hell and then showcase it!

Love the way that black looks. That's the good stuff too! Cannot wait to see the completed project. I haven't resleeved my corsair yet. This is giving me the motivation tongue.gif

Thanks! I am really having fun with this build. Documenting the process is making it longer, but I don't mind. I'm still waiting on another part to come in and for me to order the side panel.

Looks like selling my old rig is going to take more work then I thought. My in-laws no longer can afford to buy it and the couple people at work are unsure. Do you guys think it would be worth it to part out a 2 year old AM2 machine?

Modded Antec 300
Antec 550W NeoPower Modular PSU
EVGA 730a motherboard
EVGA 9600 GT
Arctic FreezerPro 64 92mm heatsink
4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz G.Skill RAM
24X DVD Burner
15" MAG LCD Monitor

Or should I keep it bundled and sell on Craigslist?

Might be better off/easier to try it bundled on craigslist or ebay. Parting out prices might get a tiny bit more, but then you have to figure shipping of multiple packages and multiple trips to the post office/boxing things up/etc.. you may only be talking about a $10-$20 difference.

Btw the sleeving is really looking nice. A lot of effort going into this.
Great job on the sleeving! I also completely forgot to get some measurements.... How much more work do you have to do before we get to see the final product?

I've got a part coming in today. Gotta test it and then install.... then redo cable management with the sleeving.

Ok you really honestly quoted all of those pictures just to say that?

if you are going to quote something. take out all the pictures but like one. Don't quote picture spam please.
That is pretty much a rule of the forum.

Great build!!

You have inspired me for a couple mods and I think I am going to post my build log aswell

If you wanted to go a little nutz, and if it's in your budget you could use some colored connectors (i.e. ATX, Molex, SATA, Fan headers)

I have a link to a company that manufactures these in different colors, and will post it later when i am at home (currently at school)

once again, love the build!

very clean, very tidy, very über!
+1

EDIT: I found A link, not the one I wanted, but there are some options there for you

Thanks to USMCZ. He and I have been talking for a while and he wanted to help me out. So I came home after the kids doctor's appointments today and found something sitting on my doorstep. (both kids are ok) just speech therapy and the 9 month well baby checkup.

I would show the pic of the box, but it has both of our addresses and I am not going to do that to usmcz.

But here is the box opening!

Here is the rez I gotta figure out how to plumb. I know the bottom port is the outlet and the top is the inlet. Just gotta figure out the rest of the loop that was already put together.... shouldn't be too hard to figure it out.

and luckily here is the mounting brackets.... will have to browse for the installation instructions to make sure I am doing it right

He also sent another Corsair fan... 2 yate loons in push pull on the rad

Woohoo!!!! I am going to work on it tonight in my old system for leak testing to make sure everything is ok after being shipped across the country.

BIG PROPS TO USMCZ
