Here is some of the work I did last night
Notice the tape I put over the end of the wire to prevent snagging. It worked perfectly and I did not snag the sleeving at all! Here are the 4 yellow wires of the 8-pin done. I will stagger them through the connector so it is white blue white blue all the way around.
Sorry for these pics of the blue ones, but with the lighting in my dining room the color came out as black without the flash.
I singed the ends of the sleeving so it would not unravel until I get the heatshrink in. Then I will either cut off the singed area or pull it so tight that it becomes smaller.
8-Pin connector done!
I didn't take any pics of the 6-pin because I forgot
But here are the white ones for the 24-pin.
And the white and blue for 24-pin
And Finally all of the wires being used for the moment. I still have a TON of the paracord left. If I get a wild hair I may go ahead and sleeve my entire PSU, but I want to get this thing near finished pretty soon so my wife can have me back.
Remember earlier when I said that I destroyed one wire? Well here it is. I was able to bend the wire clamp out so I could re-crimp it. but the crimp that held the actual copper wire was beyond repair. What to do?
I know! Let's dig through the closet and find my solder gun!
Whew! There problem adverted. Man I love knowing how to solder stuff.
More to come when I figure out my heatshrink situationEdited by OolerTheInventor - 3/5/11 at 6:05am
