Please, help me to find the closest to a "direct replacement" for eyefinity

So as you may have seen in my other thread, I am going to be buying a eyefinity setup next week, my current main monitor is out of production but viewsonic has a few out that seem to be very similar, that being said I am not real clear on the pro's and con's of them all and I cant figure out what would be the best match in both resolution/look and physical demensions because as well all know, eyefinity hinges to a degree on the ability to maintain uniformity across all three displays.

My intent is to keep my current monitor as the center and make the 2 new one's the right and left. Since I am not as well versed in displays as I am in other hardware I figured I would go to the display experts. So which of these would be the best match for my current display?

Thank you all ahead of time, I keep looking at the stats and perhaps I am just having a brain fart but I just cant seem to compare them effectively, as far as I can tell the VA2231WM looks to fit well but am not sure.

Current display
Viewsonic - VX2233WM

Candidates for my new one's
Viewsonic - VA2223WM

Viewsonic - VA2232WM

Viewsonic - VA2231WM

Yes, I agree that VA2231WM is the best among the 3 to match your current display.

However, I have a better suggestion. In general, it is better to stick with the same series (ie VX) of a manufacturer in order to match 2 monitors as I believe panel quality/type is the most important factor (among others like appearance, ergonomics...etc) for Eyefinity setup.

And, I suggest VX2239WM which, as far as I can tell, is the same monitor as your VX2233WM except it has HDMI input and a better audio system (SRS Premium speakers). Of most important is that the panel appears to the same (making image quality/colour matching) easier. Having a HDMI input is useful too while the better speakers are a nice bonus.

Newegg link: (US$170 with free shipping)

I hope this helps you to pick the right monitors.

Hate to revive my own dead thread, but I am looking at cost, trying to avoid my wife's wrath to the best of my ability. Two VA2231WM would be about $50 cheaper than the VX2239WM. Do we think there would be a huge difference in quality?

So windfire, I ended up getting the monitors you recommended (VX2239WM). Was able to talk the salesperson at Fry's into giving me them for the same price as the VA2231WM

Good to hear you have solved 3 problems all in 1 go:
a. getting 2 VX2239WMs
b. getting them same price as VA2231WM
c. avoid the wrath of your wife

Now, this Sapphire DP-to-DVI single link active cable works for me. You can take a look:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814999030

And, I suppose this PowerColor's is just as good:

Post some pics when you are done with setting them up.

Edit #1: just read your thread that you have gone through a saga about getting a working DP adapter. So, the above suggestions are not useful any more. Glad that your Eyefinity system is working now.
