Modular PSU needs

Thread Starter
Im looking to downgrading/upgrading at the same time, my current 700w coolermaster PSU is working all fine and dandy, but its more than i need plus i would really like to get a modular unit. i know i could easily go with a good 650 and even have room to spare enough to throw in another 5870 most likely, just wanted to get an idea of what would be my best bets on units to go with.

options i have come up with thus far

Antec Truepower New TP-650 $79
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371021

Corsair HX650 $119
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139012

Seasonic X650 $139
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151088

NZXT Hale 90 650W $119
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817116010

starting off i know the Antec is almost barely modular so thats one thing i take into consideration, but i know all of these are good units, just figured i would see what you guys recommended of the units listed or could give me some other ideas of PSUs that could go toe to toe with these

I'd go for the Corsair unit, since I've always had quality products from them. The HX650 looks mostly modular. Second cheapest unit in your list too by $20..

No, it's the worst of all of them.

@OP The TP-650 has the best price/performance there, but if you want the best performer, then get the Seasonic X-650.

The HX650 might be comparable to the TP-650... But is more modular.

The NZXT is far better value than the Corsair though.

x650.
Not sure how 'more than you need' is an argument for buying another PSU..

Corsair has 7 years warranty & the best cables, I own one and they are excellent. My vote would still be for the Seasonic though, if it was only $20 more than the hx650 in my country I wouldn't give it a second thought before getting it. I don't know anything about the NZXT. The Antec is not fully modular, so I wouldn't even look at it.

like i said, mainly going for a comparable wattage, but really really want a modular unit, and seeing everyone responses, the seasonic unit is the for sure winner so far. for 20 bucks less would it be that huge of a jump over the HX650 or the Hale?
