Just bought a game off g2play - Page 2

you do run the risk of having a blacklisted key.

G2play buys their games in high piracy areas where the games sell for cheap, they then just take the serial and sell it world wide. Some serials only work for certain zones, and is becoming more popular also. Steam does alot of this.

They will never get my business, people working the system dont deserve my money.

Yeah dude, ever heard of Somalia. Lots of piracy there. They jack boats full of games and sell them on the black market, which is the regular market over there, and to sites like g2play.

and if you believe that, i have some great swampland to sell you. I actually speak of areas in Russia and Asia where the piracy rate is so high, they sell games for a fraction of the cost the rest of us pay in order to make sales there.

I've lived in Asia for 15 years. The games you buy there are the same games you torrent. They don't have CD keys. You can't play online with them. You can't even patch them without making the game unusable.

So, no. G2play doesn't use these tactics. What they do is they buy the games in tax free zones and things like that.

I've never had this happen yet, I don't think anyone else has either who has posted in this thread or they might have mentioned it.

My first buy involved them sending an E-mail to ask if I was using a proxy, and verify my IP address. Still waiting on the actual key.

I'm not too bothered about things like rejected keys as long as they get a replacement/refund...but I'm just a little nervous about being banned from some sort of service that I have other information/games on (Battle.net, Steam)

its a possibility.

i posted a link at the top of this page showing that people who bought bloodbowl from g2play were getting their keys deactivated.

its a dice roll really. the most likely thing to happen is everything be fine, the next most likely is that it will be a bad key and you will get sent a replacement.

its not hard to find g2play issues using google. lots of people have problems, lots of people dont, if they were not grey market, they wouldnt have nearly as many problems.

People have had issues with steam and other companies in the past as well, who cares?

What about just last week with those free metro 2033 game keys being denied as well.

You can't tell me there is a company out there that hasn't had a single bad thing happen to it?
