CPU downclocks, Voltage doesn't

Thread Starter
Turned on C1 states and the state that downclocks your CPU when it isnt used(controlled by software), yesterday. My CPU Clock goes up and down just how it should, but the Voltage stays at 1,272v all the time. (2,4Ghz and 4,2Ghz.)

Was there anything I forgot to turn on/off?

When you set the vcore manually it wont lower during idle on most boards. My board has a feature called dynamic vcore which allows you to overclock and still have the voltage lower during idle. Not sure if yours has a similar feature or not.

Same for me on sig rig,

I think thats the way it is...

I dont know much about the "Power Saving" modes on my computer.

Im sure someone will be able to give you a detailed explanation on it though.

But this should help...

Didnt find that in the Bios

But the manual Vcore thing made sense, I'll ask in my Mobo's Official thread about this, thx

Yea i'd say that's right!

On my 2600K if i leave everything on AUTO at stock speeds it downlocks to 1600Mhz at 0.999v, but on my overclock it downclocks to 1600Mhz at the Vcore i set in BIOS.

I got my Sabertooth to do this by setting Voltage control to Offset mode instead of Manual. This is using 0.15 as offset voltage.
