Need a mouse OCN!

Ok so my two main options are:

Razer Deathadder-V2 or $53 3500 dpi
Razer Lachesis $48 4000 dpi

not too well informed on mice, if you could tell me what i need to look out for it would be great.

Playing anything from FPS like cod, RTS almost anything, including runescape

Anyway, anything on this list under $55 is also acceptable.

Thanks guys

Had a deathadder for the last year and half, was a great mouse till the scroll quit working properly. Had a razer tempest before that, lasted about the same time, same problem started on it.
Went to a G500 this time, and couldn't be happier. Has all the options the razers do, plus an extra button. I'd recommend one of those.

Had a DeathAdder for 2.5 years, worked perfectly up to the very last (lent it to a Vietnamese friend for a DotA match... it was a sad day ). My new one has been going strong for a bit over 3 months, works fantastic...

Just bought a Black Edition one last week, should be here Wednesday. Even though I use a claw grip, I find it to be the most comfortable mouse I've ever used, never quite liked the Logitech ones (or most of the other Razer ones--the Imperator is probably my second favorite).

Lachesis and DeathAdder are extremely different by the way; almost everyone I've asked (myself included) prefers the DeathAdder, but I can see why some might be interested in the "forward slope" the Lachesis has.

Do you use a claw, fingertip, or palm grip?

This is the mouse im thinking of getting (more mmo aimed):
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=15553

Get this for fps (claw):
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=16672

Also look at these:
Palm grip
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=15072

palm/fingertip
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=14879

palm

Remember to get a decent mouse pad to get the most out of your mouse.

Some people prefer the V1, and since they're not as commonly sold anymore, the price is up. The V2 had some problems at launch I believe, but updates have since come out and by the time I bought my V2, felt the same as the old one.

Well, no. It feels smoother, since the DPI is higher, I could drop the Windows mouse settings from a 10 down to a 7 or so (it's more inaccurate on higher settings, skips pixels; especially noticeable on diagonal swipes). With a higher DPI I could just have the mouse settings at max and have it be more accurate because of the Windows settings--same speed, better accuracy, good deal. Almost no one uses mice as fast as I do outside of gaming though, so that probably isn't relevant to you, just sayin'.

In a nutshell, having used both the V1 and the V2, there's no difference that I've been able to notice in general use that wasn't a result of my settings.

Edit: btw, the only complaint I've ever had about the DeathAdder has been its plastic sides; if you do end up buying one, make sure you go with the Black Edition.

Any setting other than 6 will cause pixel skipping. "Enhance pointer precision" causes mouse acceleration, so you would definitely want to turn that off while your there.
