C300 now or wait for C400?

Should I buy Crucial C300 now or wait for C400? Im interested in 64gb only. My mobo uses SATA3, just in case.
Also, keep in mind im living in Poland, so I will have to probably wait even longer for any new stuff. Will it be worth the extra money and time?

The C400 will definitely be faster than the C300, but likely it's going to be more expensive too. You may have to wait for a few months for these drives to show up in retail, up to you if it's worth the wait.

It depends on your budget and your patience. I wouldn't wait honestly as C400 will be pretty expensive once it comes out. Of course once c400 is out c300 prices will fall a bit more too.

So the question is do you want wait approximately 6 months and pay more for ~50% performance gain or not? I wouldn't wait.

I would wait. In the U.S the drives are expected to hit stores in March and the price will be $1.61/GB so that's actually cheaper then the current drives. If you get one now in a couple of months you will be kicking yourself.

Take a look at Corsair's Performance Series 3 drives. I think they use the same Micron controller as the C400, so they should be very similar in performance. In any case it's faster than the C300, though more expensive.

I'm personally going to wait for Crucial's M4 series this March.

It should not be that much more expensive if at all.

The cost of SSDs is in the NAND and NAND prices have been falling. The new controller really is just a different firmware and maybe a tweaked chip. This does not cost more than a few pennies in production costs. The only cost to recoup is for R&D.
Once again...
