Now whom is doing the fanboy rant here...I countered your rant on drivers and pointed out where amd/ati did right and pushed the envelope on stuff...let alone...*GASP*...helping out their customer by giving them something OTHER than what nvidia offers...but what am i talking about..i am just a pure fanboy that has owned nvidia and ati cards...WT F do I know??

My goodness for someone that is so extensively researched as yourself you do seem a bit biased... But what a moment...I am a ATI fanboy...no opinion to be had and no experienced as far as a learned person such as yourself is... I mean..my first PC was a Apple IIc...I am a clueless moron as compared to you...

Wow!!! so comparing a desktop card to a laptop chipset... *taps chin*...so a well ventilated desktop set as compared to a limited thermal capacity setup as a laptop... and it is the basis of your current opinion...I bow to your wisdom... and looking at your past statement...intel was a internal chipset that wasnt all that earth shattering in its implementation... ati is still around..you know that CRAPPY driver company... matrox was always more interested in 3d engineering applications, even back in the early nvidia days...3dfx story is well documented...and if they continued as a viable company would have ruled nvidia and ati's a$$....

wasnt too familar with S3 or trident... but if i recall nvidia didnt come onto the scene till late 1990s/early 2000 while ATI has been around alot longer..but as i said i am pure fanboy as compared to a unbias bastion of intelligence as yourself...

so before you go off and dismiss ANY counter argument as a fanboy rant you better keep track of the furniture in your house before arranging the furniture in mine...

so when you fanboy rant falls apart your resort to personal attack...gotcha.

you pointed out technological advances as some how of proof of the awesomeness of ati, and i am pointing out in my research and experience (i work on computers, ati's come in a lot with driver issues and general failure, nvidia not so much.)

technology advances don't mean a whole lot in the grand scale of things, if the software or driver that is built to take advantage of it, is just poor.

btw nvidia was founded in 1993, ati was founded in 1985, again age does not dictate quality here, apples been around longer than ibm pc's, and we seen how that has turned out.

and to be honest, you offered nothing new that i haven't heard to justify a purchase of ati, you sure your card is working to expectations? i can comfortable say all the nvidia cards i have purchased have been worth it, i don't need to go around bashing another gpu manufacture to make itself worth better.

Some of you have no idea what your on about , driver issues are caused 80% of the time from the user not removing exsisting drivers from their system ..

It is wrong to say "amd drivers suck" cos im sitting here scrathcing my head wondering why iv never had a problem yet someone like you comes along and turns everyone of amd's cards because you dont know how to use a pc ?

I have a 6950 , was released 2 months ago .. The drivers are still premature and all i got to say is i have never had a problem yet like some of u claim they are so bad :s . You have a problem because you caused the problem unknowingly .

If u were technically minded , its as easy as cleaning the old drivers off ur system and reinstalling them fresh .. everything should work fine .

But noo its all amd's fault my drivers are crap , its definatly not because i dont know how to uninstall old drivers before i install new ones ..

Yes & I'm never gonna buy an Intel cpu, Corsair ram or a WD HDD cause they have given me problems before.

Many components have problems, regardless of brand... it's no need to ragequit and cry

oh and forgive me for not remembering nvidias founding date even though they didnt get any real prominence till when i stated..but silly me.. just call me a silly fanboy and call it a day...oh wait...already did that

its easy to blame the end user for problems, is what i was trying to state.

like apple and the iPhone4 signal issues, it was cause the end user wasn't holding the phone right, according to apple it had nothing to do with a design fault that grounded out the antenna...

same situation here, you can't blame the end user, unless they rubbed the card on polyester shag carpet, while wearing wool sucks and touched a orange puffy haired cat on friday the 13...

if problems continue to exist even after following your "directions" and many others like it, then what, who's the blame?

Oh i get ya now =P heard about those issues ..

I understand what u mean butt the user plays a big role in this department , installing drivers over drivers in not recommended . Its ok for you to say that but what about for someone like me thats never came across such problems and iv been using ati for a long time ..

user error most likely , the problem could be fixed with a simple reinstall ..

not necisary to come on here and bash amd's drivers .

I can guarentee if your installing these drivers for the first time on a fresh install of windows there wont be any problems ..confliction..

maybe i'm a bit biased towards nvidia, as they've never let me down, they've never failed on me, and never given me trouble (oh wait, there was that sli problem i had with 2 7800gt's, but that turned out to be a bad pci-e power connector on a psu that was about to go titts up, so i guess i will let you have that one...if you really really want to hit rock bottom and continue to dig.)

now the exp with ati, polar opposite, nothing but absolute grief, with desktop and laptop variants. most of the calls i get about graphics cards problem, first thing i say is "let me guess, ati radeon?" and they are all surprised "yes, how did you know?"
