Right now I'm leaning towards the Kone, based mostly on the simple pop and sizzle of it. Still, which mouse does OCN prefer?

Mionix has a better sensor i believe. Actually same sensor.
The mionix has the surface analzyer and not a top dpi that's interpolated.

I have to say the mionix as it is the best mouse I have ever used. I was leaning towards the kone before making a purchase but it was unavailable in the states at the time and was about $30 more.

Performance-PCs has them- and they're only 15 more than the Naos 5000.

EDIT: I thought DPI was more or less a marketing gimmick? And I knew they shared the same sensor. The only thing that turns me off from the Kone is the gimmick-tacular marketing strategy for it. Everything is turbo this and super that... the thing speaks for itself, why gold plate everything they say about it?

EDIT 2:

After seeing these two videos: (AND COMPARING THE SIZE OF THE MICE IN HIS HAND!)

(This is the 3200, but I'm pretty sure the only changes between the 3200 and 5000 are the addition of weights and a sensor upgrade)

I've decided that the Kone has won. So much for a vote!

Maybe a mod can get these threads linked together? We might end up with good info in both. :/

OP: I used a 518 for years until I brok3 it. Then I moved to the Ikari laser. If the 518s to big for u, the Naos will be great (similar shape). Its a palmer's dream.

That said, I've been playing around with the deathadder 3.5g. The original gave me a sore spot in my palm. But now that I've read up on claw superiority and loosened my chuck Norris chicken neck choke hold it feel marvelous. The tracking's waaaaay better than Ikari laser too.

I need to find a wrist rest tho. But yeah, im up from 1000cpi on Ikari laser to almost 2800dpi on da 3.5g. A lottt less arm movement. I couldn't do that with Ikari laser sensor, but das optical sensors so precise.

Got the black edition on order. It goes for 55 shipped. Only 5 buttons tho.

I had a roccat kone (the original one) and it broke within about two months. RMA would have cost me $40 so I never bothered but I will now never buy another product from them again.

They replaced the issue I had (middle mouse broke due to a plastic piece, now replaced with metal) a few months later and still wouldn't replace my mouse unless I sent them mine which is just not worth it when I can buy a new one for just a bit more.

You're using videos with a kid that has a Justin Beiber haircut? Don't trust him. IF anything, you should smite him with fire.

The mionix is alright, but I think the shape of the Kone+ would be much more comfortable.

I'd disagree the mionix is really comfy.

+1 to Mionix comfort. Only if you're using palm grip.
It might seem a bit overpriced but I say its worth every penny. So far the only problem I had was a touchy sensor which jumped randomly. RMAed that and received one that worked flawlessly. The firmware is simple and easy to use. The color choices that they give are alright, would like to see a spectrum of colors to choose from instead of predefined colors.
One downside however is that you have to change the profiles manually via the firmware. Or waste a button to change profiles The Kone+ has so many buttons, it won't be a waste to assign a key for profile change.
