There are, of course. Just not suited for TV channels. BluRay devices send the appropriate hz. (afaik)

One guy said it won't make any difference in BC2 BF3 and stuff like that, only in unreal tournament or quake 3 or something like that (one of the first posts)

I was the one who said that

And most TVs are NOT 120hz even if they claim so. If they claim 240hz, they are not even 120hz. It's just a crap interpolation technique. The TV only accepts 60hz input. It's not TRUE 120hz at all. You just cannot compare it to a true 120hz monitor.,

The TVs aren't the problem. The problem is that they're trying to make a lot with very little. They can display a 120hz signal, but they're only getting ~24FPS from their signals. Since they're trying to display at a refresh rate higher than the source's FPS, they make up for it by duplicating frames and interpolating. This gives a smoother effect, but sometimes causes visual glitches.

120HZ computer monitors do not do this, since the PC can provide a real 120hz signal.

I see, well thanks for all the info guys gonna stick to my monitors because they are kinda expensive (paid double here) so I don't think its worth going 120hz yet, plus they have no ghosting, beautiful colors and are IPS.

Been debated lots, I can see the difference between 120hz and 60hz easily.

Anyone who plays fps to any 'competitive' level will also easily be able to notice the difference assuming you havea pc capable of 120fps.

Well here is the problem, no1 is going to be able to run Battlefield 3 maxed with AA with more than 120 fps or even 120 fps : /

That is NOT true.
The TV accepts only 60Hz input, because thats the output the devices provide. That does *not* make the TV being actually 60Hz. The TV does 120/200 refreshes per second. If it's "p" labeled, like in "1080p". Only if it is "i" labeled, it uses interlacing, which means it actually refreshes less times per second.
All 1080p or 720p / 120Hz TVs DO refresh 120 times per second, make no mistake.

I did know that, but I didn't bother to include it

The input controller on the TV itself is incapable of accepting more than 60hz input. The signal is then processed into this interlaced video, and sent to the panel that can actually do 120hz. But the signal was still 60hz...


Heres the thing. I don't consider a TV true 120hz if it can't accept 120hz input. I call that fake 120hz
