This may be true, but correct me if I'm wrong, don't Intel quad cores still perform better?

At any rate, I think I'm more excited for the Ivy Bridge vs. Bulldozer comparisons than the next generation of graphic cards.

Why's that then? IB won't be here until next year, compare BD to whatevers out at the time.

Ya know, I read the title of this wrong....I figured the OP was specifically asking about AMD CPU's; the OP has "x6" in there like 4-5 times.

My bad...

And yes, Intel quads > AMD quads any day. (I happen to own both )

This isn't a thread of comparing performances. Come on.

Anyway, I still believe that IF bulldozer lives up to the hype, it'll drive prices lower. Especially on the 1-4 core region

Thread Starter
Not really sure how this became an AMD vs Intel thread, LOL.

I will agree that for the price as of now the X6 is a bargain. But if the price drops, hey, its that much better of a deal.

I was just curious as to what others opinions were.

intel will not drop their prices i don't think, because it will stilll be better and they would have no need to drop prices

I run Black Ops and Metro 2033 on max settings, and I tell you, it taxes my CPU pretty darn good. I had to OC to get the stuff to run perfect. I am hoping the Phenom IIX6 comes down in price after Bulldozer debuts. I want to upgrade badly.

Black Ops requierements are just a fail. I could run MW2 @ High w/ a HD 4670 and a old Athlon x2 3800+, yet I can barely open the game with the same rig. But anyways, if the game is not made to use more than 4 cores, having 128 cores will increase your performance by what? 1%? Just like when people compare i3 or i5 vs i7, difference in some games is only 1-2%. Not talking about Civ5 or more CPU intensive games. BO shouldn't be that demanded though.
