Hello guys I tried to increase my NB clock from 2000mhz (auto) to 3200mhz.Then DOS asked if i want to apply changes, i chose Yes.So then all shut down, only led was working and also all fans , but no display and no HDD activity.Afterward i was pretty scared - I removed all plugins and then removed BATtery from motherboard for a minute .Afterward i installed the battery back in its place and then it worked again with auto clock(2000mhz).

Please tell me what was wrong - voltage?Or chipset doesnt support to increase clock?
My motherboard is Gigabyte with AMD 740 G chipset, CPU is 3,2GHz phenom II x2 .

Thanks for all answers smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

3200 is too much. try 2600-2800.

3200 is pretty high. Start at 2200 and go from there. 2500 is a sweet spot as stock voltages are usually good enough. 2800 plus will need more volts and can be hard to stabilize, but yields a 10% or so performance gain on top of overclocking your cpu.

Okay maybe I didn't know so much what I was doing (hehe), okay buy is it normal that the system didn't respond? Now I'm running it in auto 2000MHz.Is it recommended to increase a bit for AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE 3,2GHz?

Its normal.
yes, you can increase it, but you have to raise your CPU/NB voltage too

What ram are you using ? If it's 1333Mhz CL9, just put it at 2200Mhz and forget about it. It won't bottleneck your ram.

Is my rig good enough to play most games today?I am having problems with GTA IV , it kinda lags a bit, I heard that GTA IV likes 4 core CPU's .Is there a simple way to get this game work normally?Sorry for offtopic tongue.gif
I have installed latest patch for GTA IV and it made the game much better but still some lag points while playing GTA IV.

It's 1333 @ CL9 generics. Highest NB possible is usually the best because it brings out the best in RAM... but eh, there's nothing about that RAM that makes it even close to the best at all.
