Well i am Intel only user, and belive me,intel processors are better.

AMD should compete with intel in another way,not only price.

why do people think Bulldozer is so big?

it's not likely going to be a big step up from a X6.

I have no idea what he's smoking I guess he's only referring to this year meaning calendar year (less than 2 months).
While agree that there has been some volatility, would this not be mainly in part due to speculation & anticipation to the new upcoming architect?

I appears that some people are willing to gamble, no matter how uninformed or misinformed they may apparently be, on AMD...

*cold chuckles*

It's obvious to me looking at AMD that they have what is known as Financial Cancer, though I could be wrong, most real investors I talk to are scared to even touch it.

I hope things shape up for this once prominent company, though my doubts are rather well founded today and many believe AMD will not come back, what do you think?

This^ = The truth 2 me.

Many loyal Intel customers will be hard pressed to jump ship if AMD doesn't just bring it in the performance end, and that's pretty much the way many of us see it, whether we are correct or not, that's what we, the consumers, believe.

At least those of us in the know..

Now, as for the clueless consumers (most of the market they say is 90% clueless), they could care less about performance, most of them are concerned about price first! (Though I would dare say performance is important to them!)

Why?

Because consumers are starting become not so clueless, after all this is the computer industry is it not? Last time I checked even 12 year old could tell you that a particular computer's performance flat sucked and even build the computer them self. So who does AMD think they are fooling? Definitely not the informed, we want performance increase, and that's pretty much the bottom line!

(I had to Laugh at the recent thread about the competition in building desktop computers, which is a good indicator that the world is quickly coming into the know, so despite what AMDs claims about the Performance Enthusiast market being insignificant and minor, I think this may soon bite them HARD, though I could be wrong.)

More cores is cool, but if it doesn't produce a significant performance gain like what Quad Cores produced vs what Dual cores can produce in way of performance, it's a very mute point though, am I correct?

? = misrepresented*

Well, lag definitely has to do with performance as well, not just bandwidth, and how fitting that word fits!

If you read all the design changes you will know that Bulldozer is not even in the same universe as the Phenom's. It WILL be a big step from the x6.

Believe you that x is better than y even though you said you only use x?

Nah.

intel are the king , the crown can never be taken off them .. Amd do a good job though they do lag behind abit compared to intel who releases cpu's every month or two .

Amd have both cpu's and gpu's to worry about now , hopefully bulldozer brings a little life back to amd.

Intel processors are the best , they always will be . If amd want any sort of attention they better hope bulldozer pulls through with good results cos if its fail , they have no hope to redeem themselves once Ivy bridge is here.

Think about it , 990x .. what does amd have equivilent to that ? or any of the i7 range for that matter they are just superior in every way .

Which industries? Some industries will have different risk profiles (mining, banking) and some will be in different stages of boom/bust. Either way, Intel still has almost double the profit margin of AMD.
