Dell IPS or 120Hz Monitor? - Page 4

I'm watching this thread with great interest, as I'm in exactly the same situation, except I will be buying 3 monitors (for eyefinity) instead of one! You do know that the U2311H offer ends today though right?

You really think that you're gonna be pushing more than 60FPS in most games with 5760x1080? Wishful thinking... Go IPS...

That is good logic, I like it! Also, the IPS will actually be cheaper, since I won't have to get active displayport adapters (those dells have displayport). But 120hz is just so juicy...

I am running with more than 60+ fps in any game, including BC2 (but it for some reason feels choppy even tho it says 120 fps) guess it's the stupid drivers or something.

That's just BC2 tho, everything else is perfectly fine.

Look at your GPUs and compare them to his GPU

Running all that on a single 5970, the thing is its clocked

Can't even use 2x 5970 with eyefinity, because ATI drivers are the best.

I thought 6950 is like 5970? or some bs like that.. since It's a 2GB card, can be unlocked to 6970

this happened to me as well back in the days when I had SLI G80 8800GTS 320mb on mainly steam games like counterstrike source.

On topic: IPS panel for the image quality! I don't know much about 120hz monitors but I'd hate for it to have slight input lag.

There's no input lag on the monitor I am using, no idea about the rest tho there shouldn't be any!

I didn't read all the thread, but I would go IPS over 120Hz monitor.
If you're graphic designer, your eyes will thank you! Also, playing games in IPS isn't so bad after all.

120hz is the only way to go if you're a gamer, after you tried it.

If you're not, then you're prolly better off with IPS's superior image quality.

Simple.

EDIT: p.s
to those who mentioned 60 fps... it doesnt metter really. it'll still be smoother with 60 fps on 120 hz then 60 fps on 60hz.
