Just a couple of questions about 6950

Thread Starter
What version the 6950 would your recommend should I buy the sapphire reference 2gb and unlock it or get the MSI twin frozer and overclock it, or if anyone says to get the 1gb version then please tell me why, where I live there is only about 15$ price difference.

if you are worried on price...get this...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131384

After rebate is cheaper than all of the of the 1GB versions on Newegg... Unless you go with the twin frozr version all the reference cards are essentially the same...just different warranties and stickers on the outside...

This is also a good deal...

Keep in mind the MSI and Asus brands...the warranty is based on the serial number on the card...no need to register it...and makes it a good selling point when reselling it...

bassically I like how the twin frozer looks and has potential for overclocking as in the review on guru3d they took it to 985Mhz without a sweat without voltage tweaks

Darn....I just ordered a HIS 6950 2 GB from Amazon for 260 after mail in rebate. Should have checked newegg for the powercolor one.

IMO, I would go with the reference design. You can really boost the performance with shaders unlocking or plopping a 6970 bios.
