I like the board other than that.

so far I have not learned any big tricks but not a very pop board from what it seems but sli on AMD was ether this or the CH-IV-Extreme/formula (formula you have to patch to get sli though) I am stuck @4.16ghz so if any of you can help me get to 4.4ghz would be great! I of coarse can help most getting to 4ghz on this board as I played around and read about every setting!

One thing is that I have my W.E.I. memory score at 7.9 with 1333mhz HyperX ram (blue) from what I have been reading that is pretty good! I tested with Aida64 also and wicked fast latency and read/writes are great
post #13 of 611
here is aida64 mem/cache scores and I have just set the timings down some to loosen them up to help my OC'ing so they are normally a little faster

Added.

As for the vdroop; still trying to figure out how to deal with it. I'm running only about 1.475 to 1.5 actual Vcore when set to 1.5625. Don't want to overvolt for normal use; but can't get the board stable at 4.0 with a 20.0 multiplier.

Tried dropping the multiplier down to 19.0 and cranking the CPU core frequency up to 210Mhz with a 1.5Vcore; but I got an error when I restarted: "The overclock as failed", and was kicked back into BIOS.

Well, you're doing better than I am if you're stable. I can't seem to get it stable even at 4.0.

If you want to get into the guts of it; the TurboV software that comes with the board is a really easy way to play around with the detailed settings. Once you find a good setup that gives you the best stable speed, you can go set stuff in the bios. Make sure to download the latest version from the Asus website. Gonna add a bunch of links to the OP soon as I have time.
Yeah, I know, but it seems I get better results using the BIOS. Or should I just set it to DOCP or something and it'll move stuff automatically?

Another thing I've noticed is when I overclock my RAM to say, 1920, memtest86+ will still show it as 800MHz (DDR1600). I guess it's because I choose the last option in the DDR frequency. So is memtest testing it at 1920MHz or 1600MHz?

I'll add my CPUz validation soon.

oh yeah I am stable! its a 24/7 computer and runs my media, have one drive (2tb) just for torrents (movies) and that is about 3/4 filled up lol also game drive is starting to fill up that one worries me, thinking of buying a second 1tb drive or just a SSD 240gb (which is the size of the partition on the 1tb for games) and just use the 1tb for back-up as I have had some bad things happen to drives before and don't want to have to load all the games again!!!

what is happening with you not running at 4ghz should be easy? is there anything I can do to help?
have things good for now mite go up a little more in a few days but these are 100% stable in all games and prime & occt

I haven't tried playing around with DOCP, mostly just sticking to manual. I used the TurboV to get the rough ballpark for the OC, and then did the fine adjustment in BIOS on Manual mode. I may try DOCP this weekend and see if that gives me better results.

what is DOCP? lol feel kinda dumb asking but I can't think for the life of me what it is.
