Yea it's definitely a DROP but the cpu nb volts helped and Im happy with it as Im able to at least pass a benchmark with at 4.4 just the temps for me arent all that great. I think the temps peak around 54 or 55 in while running the test, so I think I'll go back to 4.0 for the time being until I start cranking up the a/c and freezing the room for more tests. As far as rmaing the board I think Im gonna contact asus and see if that much drop is within acceptable range and if it is then I geuss I just have to live with it until I get a btter cooler and can keep the temps down better with alot of volts

I have the h50 as well, not on this rig anymore but it was OK as far as temps but big help with it was lapping the cpu and the h50! dropped big time temps, like 10c on the core and stopped using AS-5 and used NT-1 which I think is much better (just goggle or bing NT-1 tim) I have had it forever so don't remember where I got it but that helped another 3~5c on cpu and big 10~15c on gpu's!!! Plus it would be better off to do real water but as I just did it myself I know it is a big drop on $$$ I spent a grand on the loop I have now but that was with everything gone water (not chipset)

Sweet as far as lapping Im not real comfortable on the cpu part and for TIM I used the Shin Estu or however it's spelled I didnt care for the AS5 and yea I plan on doin the whole system soon under water just waitng till I get another 470 and a few more bucks to do it all I think for the time being I'm just gonna do the H50 mod and add a res and maybe another 120 rad and lap the cooler mount and leave the cpu alone for now until I deside to buy another cpu or build a whole nother system to game with and leave this one to my new addiction lol plus the little woman said no computer parts as of rite now so if I screw this one up its back to my old backup PII x2 555be and Asus M488T-m and I've gotta get my r/c sold to put with the rest of my comp fund. sell a toy to pay for a toy.

I see a pretty serious vdroop as well; about 7-8%. I think it varies depending on the CPU; but it's not a defect in the board.

There's a thread where people are working on a mod for the board, I put it in the OP. Don't know if it's going to be as easy as a pencil mod, or if it will require more involved hardware hacking; but it's looking like the latter.

Ok, I'm pretty sure that I've read through all post, and I don't remember seeing anything about this. I have a 555 BE, I know that it is not guaranteed that you'll be able to unlock the other 2 cores. My ?? is can you unlock one core at a time to maybe get a tri-core. I've tried bumping V-core to 1.475 for drooping and setting unleash to Enable, core calibration to all cores, per core. and It just continues to power up w/o going to POST. I was hoping that I could try just 1 core at a time to see which a stable. I'm new to all this OCing. this is the first CPU I've ever built.

If you're using a Black Edition, there are no more cores to unlock. Black Edition CPUs are the "fully functional" version, the ones that passed qualification testing on all cores; not the core-disabled version. You're not going to get any more cores on a BE.
