Just to let everyone know, Nividia just released new bios for 980a.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce-vista-win7-32bit-15.56-driver.html

It seems to work just fine. I fixes a bunch of stuff. one being the Ethernet drive. As soon as I installed it my down load went from 500kbp to 1.1mbp. smile.gif

Well I tried and have to say it does help to some effect, I ran this four times and with the "unleashing" off but the nvcc still set to all cores and it's was as follows and all were monitored using cpu-z

vdda 2.8/ cpu volts 1.55/ loadline -12%
at idle the volts drop from 1.55 to 1.504 with a drop to 1.488 at times
small ffts load drops from 1.55 to 1.424 and crashes within 30 to 45 secs

vdda 2.8/ cpu volts 1.55/ loadline +12%
at idle the volts drop from 1.55 to 1.504 with an increase to 1.520 at times
small ffts load drops from 1.55 to 1.424 with an increase to 1.440 at times and it took it 60-75 secs to crash
all this was done at 4.4ghz trying to reach my goal
nb was locked at 2000/ ht was at 2000/ memory was at 1333mhz and this was just a multi oc. Hope this helps someone
well this is about the best I have found to counteract the vdroop and as far as droop goes I get .13 under load. and this is something someone was working on but never found a solution. http://www.overclock.net/motherboard...ce-l6740l.html

I just want to add that this link that you provide is for the windows 7 32 bit not for the 64 bit but if others click on the drivers download they can pick there operating system of there choice. Also if there are those that are uneasy with new downloads or are worried that they don't know which to pick in the options open the page with IE not firefox and use the auto scan drivers option

Heres something I thought might come in handy for anyone who uses P95 to test stability on their rigs. http://www.overclock.net/general-pro...-settings.html
and heres another one concerning memory and timing, nb speeds and the like.

OK number one thanks a lot smoket4279 like I really needed more stuff to find to tweak, you now have me messing around with bios again, JERK lol! I hope you know I am kidding! I clicked on those links you put up, I kinda already knew some of that but not all so thank you and rep+ to you. I also tried the nvcc and it makes my system worse, only because it dose not allow for any program to monitor cpu core temps IDK why???? and no help to the small vdroop that I have which is small in comparison to yours and others on here only .02volt drop. I don't know if I like the ram at 1333 or the 1496 I had it at I did pick up min fps and max in heaven but seems jerky not smooth as it was at 1496 so going to put back. I like that you are having problems lol you find things lol keep it up and hoping you don't fix yours as it is helping out others a lot!!! Thank you and bad luck lmao
post #170 of 611
Nvcc doesnt allow any programs for temp? what about pc probe? and is pc probe very accurate or reliable? as thats what I use and I like it. aslo whats your volts to run 4.1 as the only real differance for me that nvcc made was when I was over 1.5 and closer to 1.55 and up. glad you found those links helpful uh I mean something new to tweak. lol Yea I knew some of the things posted in them, but I thought that it might be helpful to others who are just starting out and also I'm still gonna go back and read the whole thing as I might learn something new. As far as problems go..no not really had many other than the crashing from trying for max clock and the like, I just like hunting for things that could be helpful for me and everyone else that looks in on this thread
