I'm not sure if it myth, Im not sure if SLI scales well on the amd platform compared to Intel, most reviews, test, writeups i've digged up shows most games work better on the intel, tho i find metro 2033, witcher 2 and crysis 2 work flawlessly. i joined the sli fad on xmas when i grabbed a second 460 GTX. Still wondering if its bad dev work or drivers. My main boggles currently are Assassins Creed Revelations and BF3, both which work better on single card mode vs SLI. Just wondering it its the mobo or if the issues exist on the newer 990FX mobos. To rule out CPU bottle necking ive managed to hit 4.2GHZ on the 965BE, 1600mhz on the ram which on both 12hr prime stable.

So far this board is good to me.Problems getting it to run stable above 3.8ghz
I am new to overclocking.any suggestions? My profile has all the details
Added, and welcome! smile.gif

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to overcome the Vdroop. Water helps if you're going to push the voltage, but you'll need to make sure you have good cooling on the NB and VRMs as well, since you'll have to crank the NB voltage to get it stable over 4.0Ghz.

It really depends on the board, the game, and the drivers. Some games simply aren't coded to take full advantage of nVidia SLI, some are optimized for ATI instead. Some boards don't handle SLI well in hardware either. Drivers from individual graphics card vendors are also highly variable. I prefer using nVidia drivers, they seem to work better. The M4N98TD EVO seems to handle the SLI very well. With that board and the nVidia drivers, I managed to get some pretty amazing performance out of my dual GTX 460s on Starcraft II and STALKER: Call of Pripyat; but both of them are optimized for nVidia SLI.

ya i would say this board handles sli very well, as a matter of fact i believe its because of this board (and my psu) that i get: Display Driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver. Version xxxxxx stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

i think this board is very efficient at transferring data through the pcie lanes and therefore drawing more power from the psu. but i also think this error is mostly with the mid ranged cards like my GTX 560 Ti's
i havent seen any threads with owners of 580's with this error so i will set it back up when my AX1200 arrives thumb.gif

for my case i have a haf 912, and a hyper 212. in total there are 5 fans on top; 2 on the 212 an exhaust out the back, and 2 fans on top exiting as well, so i think my NB SHOULD stay pretty cool, with all those fans up there... i hope.

I've had my 955 BE up to 4.0GHz for about an hour before a blue screen. i have not tried to manually set my ram, i've been to scared to mess with it but i've read that manually setting your ram will help with stability but idk. maybe i will try it.

Yeh its very Dev and driver Dependant, i was hoping the sli for Assas Creed Revelations would work fine out the box to make it work while playing in on a 3D TV.

A little off topic is there huge performance gains running the CPU/NB at 2600 compared to stock 2000mhz? I've always kept the HT on 2000. reasons for putting it back is i find my Anti virus softwares been very sensitive to having at 2600, even 2400 and 2200..........when i mean sensitive it'll completely shutoff (leaving the firewall and windows unprotected which is a very nice find after 3-4 hrs in bf3 ;P ), to be more detailed im running Kaspersky Internet security 2012. I get the same issue even with a trail version of F-Secure. was fine last yr ;P

Have you guys either had your anti V sensitive to OC? strange thing is Primes perfectly fine.

I'm running ESET NOD32 Antivirus, and a hardware firewall (software firewall are complete crap, without exception). I've never had any problems with my antivirus from overclocking, or anything else. (ESET is also one of the highest rated antivirus programs on the market.) I have had driver problems from time to time, though.

Hardware firewall...would have never crossed my mind before, Just had a casual look at some and guess the ones that are worthwhile start at 200 UK pounds + right?

I've totally ditched Kasper & F-Secure and using Bitdefender Total Security 2012. It likes the system abuse so far with the rig at 4.1ghz, otherwise ill try out eset. Alright Back to Crysis 2, Going to finally enjoy on ultra now ive got sli wink.gif

I need some help overclocking my system to 4ghz, I have tried doing a simple overclock by increasing the vcore to 1.5v with 20x multiplier. I successfully boot into windows mode however when i run Prime95 2 minutes into the stress test I get a blue screen.

I also tried increasing the FSB to 210, HT link set to 2000mhz NB set to 2000mhz. Increased the voltage on the NB.

All methods with the same result= blue screen every time I run Prime95. I even bought new ram because i thought it was faulty.

Please help and if anyone has a similar setup please let me know your tweak settings would be nice thanks.
