Hi guys, I know this is a bit of a long shot but do any of you have any knowledge on the E-Sata port? I have a self contained cable that is meant to use the power from the E-Sata, yet I cannot get it to mount a 2.5" 5v lappy HDD (ASUS customer care told me it will run a 5v HDD). Does anyone have an idea, I have it set to AHCI in bios yet the HDD is being very illusive.

Thanks for any help forthcoming.

P.S. I have the Asus U3S6 sata/usb3 board connected through one PCI-e slot (16x) with two HHD's connected ,and all other Sata connections are used by four HDD's and one DVD. I have an external USB drive and I would like to use the E-Sata to have a nice set of hot swappable drives for images and photo processing.

Hey all,

Relatively new to the M4N98TD mother board. Switched from the M2N32SLI Delux to this a while ago, but I'm having some issues I believe with my Vid card. I've got an EVGA GTX 560Ti 1G Superclocked card which seems to run fine. Not tweaking the card at all. But I have been having an issue, both with Vista and Window's 7 (64bit) where I will get a BSoD reboot after brining the computer up out of sleep mode. Once the computer has self restarted, skipping safe mode, I have NO problems. This has only ever happened when it comes out of sleep. If I leave the computer sitting after it comes up, it'll keep running, but right when i start a game, BAM BSoD, mad.gif swear word or two, Reboot, then play my game.

I've been wondering if this is due to a slightly too low voltage to my card, which Hardware Monitor is showing as a current of .95V. But I can't for the life of me figure out which voltage I need to bump up in BIOS for the video card to see if this can solve the problem.

So question one is : Does anyone think that my voltage is actually the problem?

Question two is : If not the voltage or video card, has anyone heard of this type of problem before? And if so, what was the fix? It's driving me nuts. I've tried three or four different nvidia driver versions to try to fix this and still the same problem.

Any help you all can give is much appreciated.

@Chokie, turn off sleep mode and hybernation they are useless and will cause issues. Start menu type CMD in search right click CMD and run as admin then type powercfg -h off to turn off sleep modes type change power-saving settings and don't allow your PC to go into sleep mode. If you want to save power turn the thing OFF! It is also necessary as windows likes to shut down, it is not a good policy to not turn windows off.

@BBSReaper, is this more your GPU than the onboard sound. I have had the same issue and it was the driver for my nVidia, check your control panel hardware and sound and see that you have the right device as default (sorry if I am teaching you to suck eggs).

Good luck guys, by the by, have either of you used the E-Sata port on this board? smile.gif

No my GPU sound is fine, it is the 3.55 mm jacks I am trying to get to work. However I will try that and see.

Thanks for the advice. I've been just shutting the machine down for quite a while now, so I guess this won't really change anything for me. On a positive note, I've got it running stable at 4.02Ghz, so I'm stoked about that! thumb.gif\

As for the e-SATA port on the back panel, no I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. Don't have anything external by my computer.

I just got this board over the weekend. I'll post a CPU-Z when I get home. smile.gif

Question though:

I'm missing a coprocessor under hardware manager and my damn USB always says it can perform faster. Correct me if I'm wrong, but will installing this: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce-vista-win7-64bit-15.56-driver.html fix my issue. Are there any chipset drivers or is the link I provided the chipset drivers? Thanks!

Thanks, I tried that, however I was still stuck with the coprocessor issue, general lag and usb issues. I was also surprised to see there were no dedicated chipset drivers listed on their site. I just installed the drivers from the link above and it fixed my problems. thumb.gif

Oh and here is my CPU-Z

Well, was only 6 years later that I found the N2N32SLI club thread so 3 years to find the M4N98TD-EVO club thread is an improvement! rolleyes.gif
