It's actually a combination of both heat issues and current leakage. With Deneb cores, and I'm assuming Thuban cores as well, current leakage isn't as much of an issue due to improvements in the manufacturing process, and those procs can handle higher voltages. I've heard of people going as high as 1.9v; but that sounds excessive, and definitely not something you'd want to run 24/7. Most of the discussions I've seen accept 1.55v as a safe voltage for 24/7 operation.

lol yea I did it again wow Im SLOW today.... here it is http://www.overclock.net/motherboard-volt-mods/900227-need-some-vdroop-assistance-l6740l.html

that is the old pencil vdroop mod, unless you know where the right one is for our board which I don't think it will work on the newer boards, I did that on my P5NT-deluxe board 775 Intel but I don't think it apply to AMD based boards ether. But keep looking as it only takes one person to find something and then everyone will be happy! I have played around with a few settings on this board and found that 4.18 is stable and could go much higher but need better ram!

What are your settings? and what is your goal? that would help others in here speak up to help
post #100 of 611
I believe they were trying to get that to work on our board but my settings are as follows currently cpu speed 4050mhz cpu multi 18 cpu frequenct 225 cpu volts 1.375 dram volts 1.66 vddnb volts 1.2375 nb volts 1.28 nb locked at 2700mhz ht volts 1.22 ht locked at 2250 vdda volts 2.7 ram G skill 1600 downclocked to 1493 and timings tightened from 7-8-7-24 to 7-7-7-21 I can go 4200 24/7 but it takes at least 1.47 to get P95 stable. my goal would be to get at least 4.4 stable but for now Im happy with this.
