Thread Starter
hi all , i got one dvd drive hook up to the computer
now there is another connection for the second drive that i wanna install , but when i do it makes my computer act funny. It slows it down and also it still doesnt work. At first when i install the second drive using the cable it would stay green on the drive , but after i install the correct driver it would stop and it seems to work , but it didnt, The wire is connected to the mother board and it has a 2 way connection for the second drive, so basically there is 1 connection for two drive. there is power on both . but the second one refuse to work. i disconnect it and my computer works find again. Any help on this Samsung dvd drive

Are we talking SATA or IDE ?, mabye its just me but I'm not understanding 1 plug for two drives unless it's IDE.

If it is IDE the cable is a ribbon with three wide connecters, try setting the jumpers on the back of the drive to slave and on the first drive set to master.

Edit: the jumpers are on the back of the drive near the plugs

Hope that helps, if not just explain the problem with more detail.
