0/1/5/10/JBOD

That is your controller you may want to look into calling up Gigabyte support so they can recommend a newer motherboard that works with that controller. In the mean time DO NOT plug your drives into some other controller and then select RAID, you run the risk of wiping your drives.

I looked up some newer AMD boards and it seems that they still use JBOD, but i would call up just to be sure.

This is a terrible idea. I hope you didn't already try this out. Do what the other guy is telling you. Dont plug the drives in until you get the same controller. Use ebay to get a new mobo if you have to. I dont know how important the data you are trying to recover is but if you really want it back you will find the same mobo somewhere. While that is not the only way to recover the data, it is by far the easiest. You can always try to use a different controler or something but like Razultull is saying, it can make things pretty tricky and its super easy to loose all your data, especially off of a RAID0. GL.

JBOD stands for Just a Bunch of Disks it is not the maker of the RAID chip.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-RAI..._architectures

OP your motherboard uses AMD SB750 Southbridge that runs your RAID. You should be able to find another mother board with that southbridge and it should recognize your RAID set. Also most new chipsets recognize older chipsets RAID. So for Intel ICH10R will read ICH9R RAID sets.

Side note, if you don't understand RAID don't use it.

Hey, shutup. How'd anybody ever learn anything without trying it? I understand in principle what raid is and does.

Okay, I'm gonna order a new motherboard from gigabyte. Once that comes in, what do I do in order to get my stuff back? Do I install the OS over my old one (because W7 saves all the data) or what? Is there a way to install the os on another HD and then access the data seperately?

Your OS is still on the drives.
You shouldn't have to do anything but plug them in and set to RAID as long as your SB is the same model.

However, I would recommend getting your Data and then setting up RAID 0+1 if possible.
At least that way you get data redundancy from RAID 1 and the access and speed benefits of RAID 0.
With RAID 0 if one of the drives fails both of them loose data.

If the drives are still good and you didn't mess with them, you should be able to plug them into a motherboard with the same controller and it should recognize it.

Also I didn't mean to insult you sorry if it came off that way
