Does Anyone Not Use a Case? - Page 4

That's really awesome, dude. I want to do something like that also, I can't stand my 1200. Every case I have just seems too small. I have like 4 cases around my house too. What kind of tools did you use. I don't really have to much access to power tools. How difficult was it. I have no experience modding or anything, but those cases are just sitting around doing nothing. It would be nice to try and put them to use.
Well, sometimes it was kinda tricky to make the parts fit together, but overall it wasn't very hard, just time consuming obviously. I didnt really make any sketch or plan of it so when I first built it, there was some things that didnt really come off right, so I debuilt then rebuilt it a few times.

As for the tools, some generic things like screwdrivers, cutter, plier, etc. metal saw... a drill obviously with some good drilling bits. And my precious dremel!

Hopefully I'm not derailing the thread too much, but perhaps OP will find some good ideas/informations in what I say.

what did you use to cut the acrylic? I have a dremel, although I may need some new bits for this. What do you mean by metal saw?

The time consuming thing doesn't bother me. I've wanted an awesome case forever now, and seeing yours made me want to start my own. I definitely have to make a plan though....

I used both a table saw and an olfa snapknife to cut the acrylic. The table saw do a much better job, but the snapknife can be useful. The dremel to cut forms in it where it was needed. Hmm and a metal saw is ... let me google that so I can find the proper word, damned be my bad english when it comes to naming tools, a hacksaw I think.

Does anyone have problems with the motherboard moving while you game? I have a XAI, which has a decent length cord, so would that be a problem?

lol?

The board doesn't move for me at all, the movement of the mouse doesn't even affect it because of the length. It would have to be super tight and then the cable would probably come free from the port anyway.

Cant see why you wouldn't want a case, a computer
without a case is as ghetto as driving
a car without a hood looks ****ty and
not as protective. at least get a cheap case
sure you could find one for cheap on
craigslist or something

I'll need to find my camera, but I'll post my pics up soon and it doesn't look ghetto at all, it's actually a fairly clean setup. And I can get moar fans and airflow going.
