My Single Core PC Seems faster than my x3 core PC - Page 7

Folks, regardless of HT Link speeds and North Bridge frequencies, the machine should be faster than his single core system that this thread started with. He never answered if he installed the chipset drivers. A friend of mine did that once, he installed windows and completely forgot about the disc that came with the Motherboard.

When we mention the HDD, we aren't talking SATA1 vs. SATA2, we're just talking old HDD's vs. new HDD's. The bandwidth isn't that important with HDD's, but cache, RPM and many other things have improved since he bought that drive.

Were you referring to my system. Not really. Yeah my CPU is running a little behind, but, i tell ya, this thing does kick some tail. Every game I put on it automatically runs on the highest settings. Metro2033, BlackOps ect.
Besides, once Bulldozer comes out I am thinking soon after the price of the Phenom X6 is going to drop. I do plan on upgrading.

You can keep asking why it would be the hard drive and all of us are giving you reasons why.

Also, you need to get matching ram, or you're going to run into even more issues there.

Get these, nice speed and cheap.

And for a new HDD get this one.

Another thing i was kind of wondering, is it possible that he has some sort of RAID setting in the BIOS turned on? And it is not finding a RAID configuration?

got the graphics card for 15pound brand new, thought it was pretty cheap
