Also once your done with all that try turning on CPU Active Core Control and see if you can run the disabled 4th core for giggles.

dunno what bloatware is, but i've switched loads of things of in my windows, maybe like 30 proceses now, also 4th core didn't speed my pc up, my cpu temp hits around 70 with 4th core on full load, got scared and switched pc off :S

Just wanted to state this

I just took apart my sig rig since it wasn't working right. I switched back to my AMD 3700 and oc'd it to 3.2 and it seems faster. I know it's not especially in a few tests I've done. Furmark and Heaven benchmark are the most noticable ones. I get a 1500 in heaven on my sig rig and 889 on this rig. Furmark I lose almost 100 fps. All in what you do with your system I suppose....

I'd like to know what you mean by "it seems faster." What seems faster. Computers can do a lot of things..

Run a session of BFBC2 on both those machines, or encode an hour long video. I bet ya one of those can do those two tasks better than the other

Edit: btw - that hard drive is old as .. yeah. It's slow, and it's definitely holding the rest of the machine back. Oh, and I lol'd at "4ghz 939 running at 2.4ghz."

I wasn't laughing at your CPU.. I was laughing at you saying it was a "4 gigahertz 939 at 2.4 gigahertz."

It can't be both, and since they didn't make any 4 ghz 939s, I assumed it was a 2.4ghz part...

Now, if you want help, you're going to have to be more specific. Start by actually answering the question you quoted please.

You should put that memory stick back, dual channel is a huge benefit in benchmarks AND real world apps.

its rated as 4ghz or 4000 + and clock speed is 2.4ghz, I think it's pretty easy to understand that

Ugh.. Nevermind. You're talking about a "4000+ Athlon 64 2.4ghz." It's not a "4ghz 2.4ghz CPU" though.

I'm beginning to think you aren't actually looking for help.
