HAF-X Frustration + UV Question

Alright let me start off this thread by saying that I love my HAF-X it's everything that I wanted in case, from space to airflow it has everything. But I am having an issue that is bothering me beyond anything.

Whenever I try to plug anything into the front USB ports, the PC will shut off. Literally just die and reboot. I have grounded myself before touching and plugging in the USB device and it will still just die. I have opened up the top, made sure all the connections are good. Double checked this a few times and it is still happening. I just can't figure out how to use the front USB ports without killing my computer frown.giffrown.giffrown.gif.

Here is my second issue. I have recently bought these [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JQ17WK"]UV lights[/ame] @ amazon.
The first issue I have with them is that one of them was broken out of the package. I attached a picture to show what's happening, I tried playing with the connector and smelled a burning smell so it's dead for sure I think haha.
Secondly, the UV don't look at all what I imagined they would look like in my HAF-X, they look OK but I don't think they look great and I was going for looking great. Any suggestions or advise on what I should do? I don't think returning the cathodes would be worth the hassle frown.gif but I don't know if I like them enough to keep them. What do you guys suggest I do to get a better result. The picture itself actually looks better than the lights look in person lol.

hmm you should open the top of the case and check wheter there is some isolation between the 2 pcb's for the front connectors, old hafx have a problem there where it can shorten and kill your MB.

i posted a pic of my isolation in the last post, thats what it should look like. if it doesnt you should put some isolation between there.

if thats not the problem then i can only think that you might have mixed the 1394 and the usb connection or something like that:O

Thanks for that information, I bought that case roughly 1 month ago so I didn't even think that it could be that problem seeing that they fixed it with the newer version. Here is what it looks like. I don't think it came with the insulation frown.gif what a bummer. So should I RMA that part or fix it myself?

ERma it!

Then call customer service/technical department and ask them to push it through then you keep track of it to see if it ships out within an acceptable amount of time, if not call them back.

Does ERma require me to send in the entire case? I don't know if that would be worth it to me seeing that I would computer less for a while. Or can I just send in that specific part, I can live without a front panel for a while... not like I had one to begin with lol.

No and most likely won't even ask you to return the part.

If so they'll cover the shipping of the part back - again, they will not want the whole case.

EDIT: You're not the first with this problem.

Let me stress that after you put in for it and call cooler master give them 48 - 72 hours to ship it out otherwise call them back and get them to move on it. They have been known for ERma's to sit for weeks/months so hence your making sure.

That's awesome, I will definitely go that route then. Thanks a bunch.

Can anyone give me ideas and tips on how to de-ugly my case? Also maybe point me in the right direction to some good looking cathode (preferable UV) that would look nice in this circumstance?
