Noctua C14 and Case Airflow

If I'm utilising a case fan structure than inputs from the bottom and front and expels from the top and rear, is the C14 cooler just pushing the hot air onto all my components?

I can't seem to find any discussion about what kind of airflow system is needed for this cooler. Also, no side panel fans as my case doesn't support them.

The idea with air cooling is that cold air must enter below and it must exit on top, this is physics and we can't do anything about it. This means that in boxes that don't have a side panel, the air that reaches the CPU is already somewhat heated by the rest of the components. What you could to to reduce this effect is to have top-mounted exhaust fans. This way the warm air is quickly evacuated and (depending on the position of the fan) a large part can actually bypass the CPU fan. A rear mounted exhaust fan can take care of the heat from the C14.

It's not impossible to intake from the rear/top and expel from the front/bot, but I won't be doing it.

I am more curious at how the orientation of this cooler's fans interacts with a traditional airflow setup. Most push/pulls work with the airflow directions, this one doesn't.

In a case that isn't intaking from the side, does the C14 still perform well?

It should be fine. Maybe not perfectly optimized, but should work fine.

Any thoughts on why it won't be optimised or what I can do to better that?
