Thread Starter
so here are some of the specs for my old Ultra X-Finity 500w SLI psu and my new OCZ 700w SLI ModXStream-Pro psu.

----Ultra X-Finity 500W SLI Dual 12v Rails SPEC's ----
Ac Input Voltage- 115/230v
Ac Input Frequency- 50-60Hz
Ac Input Current- 8.5A (RMS) For 115 VAC Input and 5.5A (RMS) For 230 VAC

Max Output Current- +5v +3.3v| +12v(1) +12v(2) -12v | +5VSB|
30A 30A| 16A 18A| 0.6A| 2.5A |
Max Combined Watts- 160w | 384w | 7.2w| 12.5w|
|---------481w-----------|------19.7w----|
|-------------------500W------------------|

--------OCZ Mod-X-Stream Pro 700W SLI Dual 12v Rails SPEC's---------
Ac Input- 100-240v 10A
Ac Input Frequency- 50-60Hz

Dc Input- +5v +3.3v| +12v(1) +12v(2)| -12v | +5VSB|
Max Output Current- 25A 25A | 25A 25A | 0.3A| 2.5A |
Max Combined Power- 150w | 552w | 3.6w| 12.5w|
Total Power- |-------------------------700W-------------------------|

I noticed there are differences between the 2 psu's with the rating's they have in the specs like the 30A in the Ultra psu and its only 25A in the OCZ psu but the other 2x25A's in the OCZ psu are only 16A and 18A in the Ultra psu.?. So some things are higher in the ultra then in the OCZ and vice versa...

The 30A ratings on the Ultra unit are the +3.3V and +5V rails. Believe me, on a modern system, you will never need that much power on those rails, and the 25A provided on those rails by the OCZ unit are way more than enough. Just forget about it.
