The PC has cleaner and clearer textures, AA, true high-def resolution (even better when the textures are also done in HD) and usually a better draw distance and such. They're all these small things that add up to a better level of visual fidelity. It's not exactly the massive jump that people will have you believe but there's a definite improvement in visual quality.
He was asking about hardware.

but to put it in perspective sort-of:

You can even use saved games from windows live from either system with a live account.

Basically, consoles are plug and play, PC's require some love.

I have one of these controllers i bought a long time ago,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826127208

would this be sufficient or do i need 360/ps3 type controller?

For that matter, could i use my wireless 360 controller?? what drivers would i have to install

You would definitely want a dual analog stick controller.

You can use the wireless 360 controller... but you have to buy a USB wireless receiver for it, which runs at least $30 and should come with any drivers you would need.
