i7 2600 Can be overclock :O

m new @ overclocking
in bios i have select OC @ 4.0GHz
n i have check in CPUZ it was 3991.4 MHz

Its the 2600k (note the k at the end) wich means that it has an unlocked multiplier and thus can be overclocked futher then 4 bins above regular turbo speed.
You can theoretically get to 5ghz+ with that chip but not all are the same and not all will go that far.
I would advise you to do some research first to see how well your motherboard overclocks aswell and how to start overclocking.

Yeah, you can overclock to like 4.0 or 4.2 using the turbo but thats your limit.

At stock yeah, but you can raise the Turbo Multiplier which is how you normally overclock a Sandybridge Processor.

so there is no problem in keeping it to 4.0 GHz

You can overclock the non-K's.
I had 4Ghz across all 4 cores (turbo disabled) 24/7 on my i5 2500.
Could get to 107.5Mhz max base clock but 38x105 was enough.

yur is 2600k unlocked core
mine is just 2600
i dont know much abt it so i have feeling that there might be something wrong
