I'm running 4ghz no problem. But for the life of me I cannot overclock the northbridge at all. I tried at roughly 2800 NB Freq, upped my voltages generously. I think it went as high as 1.37V CPUNB, brought my RAM up to 1.65, maybe even 1.7 at one point, brought the VDDA up a tad. Never was stable there, so I kept the voltages and dropped one stepping to roughly 2500NB freq. Still would not be stable. Most of the time Prime95 would crash within 10 minutes. One time it lasted an hour, so I'm thinking to myself, maybe I got it? haha, well the second I stopped Prime95 the system crashed.

I went to the lowest 'OC' stepping on the NB at 2280 something, and it felt stable, Prime95 ran for an hour or two. Randomly it will BSOD. Sometimes after a half hour.... today I watched two full movies on Netflix and then it randomly crashed afterwards. It doesn't seem right.

So I dropped back down to 2000mhz for now and kept the voltages for everything not related to CPu on auto. What am I missing here? I have no problem cooling the board, never seen the temps go over 32C at ANY point on the board.

RAM is 1525mhz at rated timings 7-8-7-24..... ideas?

EDIT: I just noticed that I'm running a 1T, and the XMP profile suggests 2T. Maybe this is why?
do you have LLC enabled?

I put cpu/nb voltage at 1.37v

whats your vcore?

What does a bsod memory dump mean?

I've actually had better stability with LLC disabled, but I had to set the Vcore so high it just seemed ridiculous.

Currently LLC is enabled, both CPU and NB (I think is the other LLC option). Highest I went on NB was 1.37V I'm back at all auto now, with 2000mhz. I'm gonna give the memory timing to 2T a shot.

EDIT: 2T made me stable, fixed one thing, had to raise my Vcore a tad. I haven't run an all day P95, not do I plan to, but it lasted a half hour which is far better than I ever got before, and it actually feels stable as well. When I'm done with my overclock, I will do longer tests, but I can definitely 'feel' when this board is stable...its quite obvious.

nice! I ran Prime last night on 3.9ghz, on prime same settings as before woke up to a BSOD memory dump. trying to figure out if that's vcore or memory.

I tested my ram through 5 runs of test #5 on memtest86+ no errors.

Can't wait for my Venomous X to come in on thursday, I've got a lot of work to do. Sleeve my psu, do some cable mangement, install the VX and then OC like there's no tomorrow.

woo got my new cpu 1090t and venomous x running prime as we speak

3.8ghz

16 x 242

1.38vcore - 1.428

I used the same settings on my 1055t, jesus what a temp drop from the Venomous X

Hyper 212 : 53-55 C 100% load
Venomous X Black Edition: 36-38C Load

I'm gonna have some fun with this chip meow!

It's not unheardof. I had mine doing 3.96 at 1.392 but any higher required huge bumps. Also, when running the benches I'd check to make sure the board isn't setting your multi to 4x. These Asus board to that for some reason... mosfets get really hot, really fast.
