240 rad for a x4 955 + gtx480 setup

Thread Starter
as the title said
I wonder if a 240 rad ( or two stacked ) is enough for a x4 955 + 480 w/ swiftech block ( and the heatsink ) setup
i just bought a gtx480 and got an old case from scrapyard for $5 . Im thinking of modding the case and watercool it. Since ill be running a amd based system in the next couple of weeks as im cheap , i wont be running SLI or something more extreme than this 480.

1 240rad will struggle to stop coolent temps rising. Especially if your oc'ing.

2 240 rads would do it

1 is not going to cut it if you run a really graphics intensive game

1 Radiator would be fine as long you used 1850 RPM GentleTyphoons. You won't get amazing temperatures, but you will get pretty decent ons. Remember that AMD chips don't consume a lot of power.

With overclocking you'll be running a 12-13C delta, which while far from ideal will still work fine for you needs. Most people run around a 7C delta, so you'll only be about 6C warmer than if you had an ideal loop. For what you want to do I think this is fine.
