NH-D14, it just seems like a better cooler.

I went with the Silver Arrow for a few reasons.
I like the look of the fans much better, and from what I understand they perform better as well. I also just like the look of the heatsink itself overall.
The spacing between the two towers allows the use of a 120mmx38mm fan (San Ace!) if I ever decide to use one. The D-14 does not.
To be honest though, both fans are neck and neck with eachother. The only thing that really matters is how well you apply your TIM. Just go with whichever you like the look of better or whichever you can get a better deal on, in the end they're both the same thing.

Also, you should not have any clearance issues with either one if you are using low-profile RAM. You can always raise the height of the fans if you do.

looking here, your corsair vengance ram is too big, for the nh-d14

i would also say that the siver arrow will also be too big

Thanks for the pics bud(+rep), unfotunately the heatsinks arent removable so it looks like the NH D14 is out of the question

If RAM height wouldn't be an issue I would still suggest the NH-D14.

But for tall RAM sinks I would suggest taking a look at the Thermalright Archon. http://thermalright.com/products/ind...t_id=27&id=172

But I still don't know if that would work to your fancy.

Good luck.
Thanks il have a look at the archon, its quite talll though so hope it fits in my case.

the archon is a great choice. i tested all of those Heatsinks, and the Archon is right bewtween the Silver Arrow and the D14, with just one fan. And at the end of the day this 1°C won't make a differnce anyway in 99% of cases

It fits in my lian li 7fn wich is 210mm wide. the 690II is 215mm, so the archon will probably fit in your case, too, but i'm not 100% sure...

I recommend the NH-D14, I just got one a few days ago and this thing is an absolute BEAST! The cooling job it does is phenomenal, leaps and bounds ahead of my old Zalman heatsink. I am just using the stock Noctua fans and the Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste and temps dropped 10+ degrees.
