5770 (maybe xfire) or 5850

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a new graphics card to run dual 19" monitors and do some light gaming (just cause, COD, RS, HD flight sim)

I'm leaning very heavily towards getting a 5770 simply bcause it is literally half the price of a 5850, and I probably won't need 5850 performance anyway. If I found I needed more performance, I could xfire 2 5770's.

I have a 4830 ATM.

Do you have any advice? Thanks.

2 570s are faster then 1 single 5850, but since Xfire can be a pain i would sell the 5770 and get a 5850 OR get a 6950 for the extra power (and price/performance its better)

Dual 5770s surpass even the 5870 in some cases.

If you have the money I would say go for the 5850 as it is more future proof. I started off with a 5770 had two 24'' monitors running just fine, I was also able to play Black Ops with relatively high settings as long as I didn't mess with AA too much. Got lucky and got a 5750 to crossfire it with and love it. Not the best crossfire setup but got it cheap
