so this pre-alpha release is just a base xfce OS from what I see.
looks nice and well finished so far, might have to toy with it for a bit.
can't wait to see some of the benchmarking/stresstesting software added

I've done all of my testing in VirtualBox so I know that should be 100%. Feel free to test it however you'd like as the goal is that we would like it to run in any environment. If you can spare a CD even, it would be good to know it runs on real hardware as this is the final aim.

Yeah, once it's down downloading. I'll throw it on a USB and see what's up

Yes XFCE for now. We may go back to openbox depending on if we need the space or performance although, XFCE seems to be performing quite nicely. There is some default xfce software that I need to kill so we'll see where it goes from there.

Actually Phoronix test suite is included, I just never really put much emphasis on it as I'm not sure how useful it would be without graphics drivers (which we will hopefully have in place for beta). Lm_sensors is also included.

I haven't tested either other than verifying that they installed correctly (I think!).

Awesome, I wasn't going to mention USB as I had absolutely no faith in myself creating a universal image. Last time around our image wouldn't work for USB.

Interesting... Used Live USB Creator and it said "failed".... Will reboot and check to see if it works. If not, will try unetbootin.

Use unetbootin, I just tried it and it worked for me.
Just tried it on my laptop, but it seems like it has the same issue I have with Ubuntu on it. Won't find the wireless drivers. Will try on my desktop later.

Would you mind sharing those backgrounds, they look epic!

Sure, as soon as I get home from work I will post them. They are scattered through the archives mostly if you'd like to look through, although please don't post in there

On the wireless issue, I don't believe I added full wireless support yet. I need to start documenting this thing...
