Thinking about upgrading..

Hey guys! As you can see in my Sig,
I have a ZOTAC Gts250, And I'm thinking about upgrading..
I play alot of single player games, and I love to strain my cards, so the better performance the better! I mostly play, BFBC2, Crysis Warhead, Starcraft 2.. Etc. ( I also Play at 1440x900! )
My 250 can max out Crysis without AA, at around 30fps.
I'd like to be able to turn on AA to at least x2 and keep it steady around 40fps.
Also, BFBC2 can't be maxed out for me online, my frames drop to about 25 when I get an RPG shot at me..

My budget is about, 200-250$ BEFORE shipping/taxes.
Ive ALWAYS used nVidia, but am willing to make the jump to AMD/ATI.
Would be hesitant but I would.
Thanks in advance guys!

PS: motherboard is non SLI so SLI is completely out of the question.

Yeah that's because Crysis is coded for Nvidia. I understand people always giving results of Crysis since its one of the most detailed game. But if you would go for budget there is no reason to leave the 6850/6870. Me, myself a Nvidia user. For people who are on a budget new AMD cards have done such a great job because they consume way less electricity so that you can save more from bills and have a new upgrade in the future.

But of course its your money and decision no one is stopping you. You are on a budget so spend it wisely.

u can get a 6950 2GB for around 250ish on newegg after rebate ... and then flash/unlock shaders so that it essentially becomes a 6970 which is gonna be even more beastier ... mine is coming in today ... even if unlock is unsuccessful (extremely rare) you'll have a slightly faster card than a 470/560Ti
