To sum it all up: There's lots of different pastes available. Pick one thats not the el cheapo generic brand and you will be fine. Not a huge difference to be noticed between them.

The best method seems to be by applying the paste in an X shape. It also depends on the consistency of the paste being used.

So in you're opinion, which is best? IC Dimond 7?

Everything they rate A or A+ is very good. Personally I like Arctic Cooling MX-3.

Wow, thanks for that video. So, I did the dot method for applying my Shin Etsu G751, lifted it up to inspect, and then pressed it back down after adding a small bit more, pretty certain I created a ton of air bubbles by doing that. I have access to both kinds of Shin Etsu, though can only tell by the color of the cap since there's no labeling on the syringes unfortunately.

It's all the same crap.
Just get some Arctic Silver 5, it's usually the cheapest.

I use Shin Etsu and the spread method with a razorblade.
You'd be surprised at how far that stuff goes for the price.
I use AS Matrix for other people's rigs when I'm helping them.
Seems to work alright.
