Meh...another useless "milestone". If something like this lasts only a few months and you have to fill it with expensive liquid nitrogen every few minutes, then it's useless. It's like having a luxury car that only lasts only a few months and one that you have to fill up with expensive gas every 9 miles.

I never understood this part of the enthusiast community. FFS, why have a product that you can't even use??????

this enthusiast community is why you see products like the OC board, and why manufacturers cater to us lol. Or else they woudl just sell run of the mill products, don't insult somthing that has made overclocking what it is today lol.

All of these extreme oc guys started out doing what most people here do, oc their systems on air and water, then they wanted more and they got it. Subzero temps 24/7 are very easy, that is why there is somthing called cascade and single stage phase change units, some can go as low as -130-150 C, but they cost a lot, like 5k. A singel stage costs like 300-600 bucks and can take cpus dwn to -30-60 C

Sub zero cooling = not impressive.

Subzero cooling is no timpressive? lol you are in the wrong place. you have no idea how hard it to to get these WRs when there is that much competition, you can't even use any LN2 pot for any chip, there is so many factors in play such as density of the block, they design of the holes, and capacity for LN2, then you have to determine what chip needs how much, a power hungry heat heavy chip like the 990x is no easy to cool. Then you have the problem of cold bugs, and how to get around them, many use different bases for cpus with cold bugs. You have to understand that LN2 and DICE make OCing a sport, most of the boards you guys use are way overkill. Did you guys know that DICE needs a totally different pot? WRs are won by the right combonation of chips and boards.

Furthur more you guy are VERYYYYYY LUCKCCCYYYY becuase you don't need to use soldering irons, in the old ages every board had to be moddified electrically to overclock well, there was no such thing as LLC. Vdroop was taken care of by a potimeter soldered to resistors, and to control some voltages you have top do the same thing. i had one board that had 8 different variable resistors(potimeters or how ever you spell it) and it oced like a beast under my SS and i still hold the WR for that P4.

3D benchmarking is hard as well becuase you have to volt mod the cards to get them going, and vmodding gpus in no easy task.

There used to be a time when you actually had to know your **** to oc to anything, 4ghz is not impressive. lol 7ghz is.

well another WR:

Very impressive, but very impractical, and hence, useless.

he is pressing a button that changes the multiplier and blck ON THE FLY. LOL

When you go for WRs there are certain aspects of certain benchmarks that actually like slower CPU speeds. Plus in windows you can reach much higher speeds than are needed to boot. It is much easier to have manual buttons.
