Phenom II X2 Temp

Thread Starter
Hello again it's me with my new thread,

Today I am gonna talk about my CPU temperature. On idle it is between 29-32 C and when I am playing some advanced game it raises to 53 C.Is it normal for stock cooling and stock case?.My case cooling is really small at the moment, it has only one 80 mm stock fan from year about 2008.Since I have installed my new rig , the Fan is running even higher revolutions - if in past i couldnt hear it, then now i can hear it's loud sound and in BIOS its about 2500 RPM, is it also normal that motherboard automatically increases the speed of fan.

In the nearest future I am going to upgrade my current CPU cooler , and add Six 40 mm(front panel) & One 120mm(side) in my case. The case also needs some modification.

Yes, that is perfectly normal for the stock cooler. You might want to worry a bit if it gets above 57ish, but you're not in the danger zone until 60ish, as 62-63 is the thermal junction.

EDIT: never mind, I was thinking about different chips. You probably don't want to exceed 65, and 70 seems to be the absolute highest.

Your temps are good. However, if you want to overclock, an aftermarket cooler and those extra case fans will work wonders.

What about that case fan story that the speed is now faster[...] ?
Talking about upgrading CPU cooler, how much will this cooler decrease actual temperatures?

oh and I suddenly got one more guestion about that coretemp, is it reliable software, true temp specs?
Also if you guys know some good software to show all information (clocks, volatge etc) about system and also overclock with the same program, please give me a link

Are the fans spinning faster with the new build? It could just be that your motherboard runs them faster.

In terms of coolers, a lot of people use the Hyper 212 Plus. I've been eyeing it myself, fantastic cooler. I don't know whether you'll easily be able to get it where you live though. Either way, pretty much anything is better than the stock cooler.

That cooler doesn't seem to be the best. If you can, definitely go with the 212+ over it.

Yep, CoreTemp is very good. For voltages and clocks, get CPU-Z. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Also, if you want temps for all of your system, and voltages too, get HWMonitor. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Hello.

HW Monitor is quite extensive and accurate.

Everest is another program that you might want to try (trial version). If that link does not work, try Here (Major Geeks).

Also go into your bio's and make sure smart fan control for your CPU, Is turned off so your fans always running at it's full speed, Id read up on your mobo bios and make sure you turn off the right smart control options, Don't know if you have done this or not but, I hope it helps.
