What mode do you guys use on the Dell U2410?

I know that there is a gaming mode that reduces input lag, but is it noticeable while gaming? Also, doesn't the gaming mode force wide gamut which makes sRGB applications (like games) oversaturated?

I just use the standard profile I setup.

The U2410's response time is fast enough, you won't notice "ghosting" with it. Trust me, I have CRT's and had the U2410 at the same time.

Thanks!

What about color profiles? I heard that extended gamut monitors (like this one) suffer from oversaturation in a lot of applications... do you use sRGB mode or something else?

Like I said; custom profiles.

It depends, monitor to monitor, on the settings you need to use. But calibrating your monitor by hand is the best way to do it unless you have a $450 piece to tech to tell you what to do.

I didn't even know there was a gaming mode.. do I need to update the drivers or something? No clue how to do that anyway

I just plugged them months ago and been rocking!

No ghosting at all, just using the one with the nice colors

Is the custom profile an extended gamut one? Sorry, I'm just trying to understand possible issues before I buy one. I'm just worried about oversaturation in games.

Go over the calibration in the review and refer to the profiles used.

I guess my problem is that I don't understand extended gamut vs sRGB... if I use a custom profile (the one from tftcentral) will games recognize it?

The color profiles are handled by Windows itself; EVERYTHING that the video card outputs will change once you load that profile.
