We now know who is an apple fan boy.

You know the android phones have amazing hardware. Even my phone has amazing hardware and it is a blackberry.

The Droid original has a 550mhz cpu and it is fast, the new phones have 1ghz on most of them, on top of a powerful GPU that hasn't even been put to use by anybody really.

My blackberry has a 750mhz cpu in it.

The ipad has a 1ghz properiatary CPU in it. So we all know it can't hold a candle to the commqual cpu.

1ghz>550 or 750

also ipad has 256 mb ram, more then most of the android phones out there

umm yea, but what im saying is look at the phones with 550mhz, they are fast and powerful, so what makes you think that the ones with the 1ghz+ chips wont' be able to play minecraft?

the new phones are coming out with dual core chips at 1ghz+.

soo he builds for phones with 1ghz+, what about all the phones that dont have that kind of speed?

would you rather play minecraft on a 3.7 inch screen (droid), or a 9.7 inch screen?

and when you build a video game. AWWW what about all the poor people with a computer that isn't fast enough? same concept. What is your point.

how many people are walking around with droids. Now how many people are walking about with a freaking ipad? Ummm not many compared to droid phones. Even if you only look at the ones with 1ghz plus. You also have to remember, that who ever said that minecraft needed 1ghz? If he programs a lite version of minecraft in java for the android platform, he would be able to run it on most phones.

you really should learn about hardware man.

doubtful, and even if its true there is still a lot of fragmentation, because not all those devices have the same screen size/ram

2010 sales - 16.24 million iPhones, 7.33 million iPads

i doubt there are more droids then iOS devices

edit: couldnt find a droid sales number, if you could post it it would be great.

edit2: also your point about computers is why pc gaming is not doing as well as console gaming. people like having standards and not having to worry about if their system is fast enough to run something; they like only having to pay $200 for a gaming system that lasts you 5+ years then $500 for something that you will have to upgrade in a year or two.

Do you program for android? I do and fragmentation really isn't as big of a deal as you make it. The screen size issue is as simple as spending maybe 20 minutes resizing some icons and playing around with the xml a little bit.

hey, maybe notch just wants to sit on his ass and eat cake all day, and this is the easiest way for him to do it.
