Need help reaching 4GHz i5 760. - Page 2

Try getting stable with the RAM heavily underclocked. That way you can isolate the issue. I have seen people getting issues with not being able to get that RAM to stock before.

Aside from that, you could ditch all the RAM timings to say 10 and see if you can get stable that way.

Edit:
Your voltage is massive for that clock, that could be causing instability on it's own, have you tried it at a lower voltage? Say a 1.3v?

All of this could come to naught of course, it might be the RAM just can't cope (I'm guessing 1333) I was recommended to use 2000 RAM for anything above 4GHz realistically.

I think u r a very bad luck guy, cause i know a lot of people that have a i5 and
set it at 4.0Ghz.
I would suggest a lot of things, but it seems that you have already tried it all.
Did you disable the intel speedstep?
take a look at this vid, i guess it's gonna help.

You never mentioned what you have your RAM multiplier at. Is it 1:1, 4:2, (can't remember what the last one is but is 5 times I think). Even though your RAM is rated at 1600 Mhz, set the multiplier to the middle - as if it is a 1066 MHz RAM and then test your stuff out again. At 4 Ghz, you will be close to 1600 Mhz or little higher. I agree with the others here - I think it is your RAM that cannot take the overclock no more. It is screaming back at you.

I'm sorry, but this just doesn't seem right, can you please post a picture(s) of all the bios settings you are using.

I know all chips are different, but not being able to hit 4GHz with that much voltage, I don't believe it, something is beyond it's capacity.

Which, thinking about, what is your QPI link set at? it should be on it's lowest numerical setting (the slowest setting before the setting "slowest")

Yep, turn the QPI frequency down.

HAHA, can't believe I missed that one straight off the bat.

You will prob want to start the OC from scratch though, I doubt you'll need half of the voltages you have in there once you get that QPI running at a decent speed.

Edit:
I would also bring your RAM down below its rated MHz and set the CPU amplitude to auto if that isn't it's default setting.
